“Knitted Knockers” Class. This class is now full.
February 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
From the Heart currently supplies comfort items for cancer patients in a very large number of facilities. This includes hospitals, surgical associations and infusion centers.
For years we have done our very best to offer blankets and hats for chemo patients as well as little underarm pillows and drain tube bags for those suffering from breast surgeries and just recently, small port/seatbelt pillows.
For at least 13 or 14 years I’ve off and on knitted replacement prosthesis for those who have gone through mastectomies. Lately more and more of our recipient locations are learning of our ability to create these and are asking to be included on our list. That’s where you come in!
We are offering a knitting, how-to, mini class on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, from 10 until noon at our workshop located at 1114 Westbriar Drive, Richmond, VA 23138. We will supply patterns, yarn and fiber fill. We will be teaching how to make these little “boobs” in 5 sizes. You may not complete one in just our two hour session but we will have samples in various stages of completion in order that you may see just where you are heading with your project and how to complete the final steps.
This is not a difficult project and so, so worthy of your time and talents! You must be able to knit in the round to participate.
Registration is limited to 8 so contact Tricia at (804)683-9015 or firstname.lastname@example.org SOON if you would like to attend.
