Learn to Make a “Sunshine Bag”

March 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Nancy Wright will lead a workshop on creating Sunshine Bags.  These bags are basically game sets.  They can be sewn, knit, or crocheted. The outside of the bag can resemble a game board and the game “pieces” are held inside the bag.  Nancy says, of her upcoming class,

“Prerequisites: able to make a basic bag, sewn, knitted, crocheted or ? , imagination, a sense of playfulness and willingness to improvise. If you have worked with someone who has dementia, your input would be invaluable. Or if you remember favorite toys – your own, those of your kids or grand-kids or young students; things that were much loved, portable, and engaging.

Together, we’ll share the things we’ve made for folks who have dementia, and brainstorm more.  Our jumping off point is a bag I designed for the parent of a friend. I am excited to share it with you all, and see what other things we can make.”
