Richmond Area Potluck Lunch and Annual Workshop
May 4 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
From the Heart’s Richmond Area Yarn Swap, Leftovers Workshop and Potluck Luncheon, will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00am until 3:00pm at the Brandermill Church, 4500 Millridge Parkway in Midlothian. We will have a yarn swap, a raffle, a mini Dollar Daze, a mini class, patterns which will make quick use of our many leftovers, and a potluck luncheon. Please bring a dish to share (see below)
If you have unopened, full skeins of yarn that you bought with the best of intentions but now know you will not use, please bring them for the yarn swap. Who knows, you might be able to swap for your latest favorite yarn – LOL
Our mini Dollar Daze will operate in the same way as our “regular” Dollar Daze. We have some really nice yarn which From the Heart cannot use for items to be given to our recipients (silks, cashmeres, linens, etc.). For a small donation, you can take some of that yarn home with you. Lois will then use the proceeds to purchase yarn which we can use to create items for donation.
Kulla Ficare has offered to teach a jewelry class. You may have seen Kulla wearing one of her lovely hand-made necklaces. This is your chance to learn to make one yourself.
Dorothy Bernstein has very generously donated one of her fantastic knitted toys which will be given to the lucky winner of our $1 ticket/6 for $5 raffle. Again, proceeds will be used to purchase yarn for the workshop.
Our lunch will be a pot-luck. So that we don’t get too many of any one genre of food, please bring an appetizer/salad if your last names starts with letters from A to I, bring a main dish if your name starts with an J to R and bring a dessert if your last name starts with a S to Z.
Please let Tricia, firstname.lastname@example.org, (804)683-9015 know if you plan to attend as this will help greatly with planning. You are welcome to join us for an hour, a couple of hours, or the entire time. Feel free to bring a friend.
Please note that the From the Heart workshop will be open on Saturday, May 4th.
