SUMMARY:Pick-up/Drop-off Event\, Sunday 28th\, at the Workshop.  1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
DESCRIPTION:We still have an ongoing need for hats to fit newborn infants. These hats should fit over a 5″ Styrofoam ball\, which means the brim should measure about 16″ around. These hats also need to be long enough to cover a baby’s ears. The brim can always be folded back so the main concern is that they are not too short. Currently\, the local hospitals are looking for as many as 750+ per month. You will find patterns on the website HERE.\n\nAnother need we have is for non-slip off (horseshoe) shawls and there are patterns for those on the website too. The need for soft toys\, 12″ cotton squares\, and 8″ acrylic squares continues but please note that you should feel free to create whatever you desire. We can find an outlet for just about anything.\n\nYarn for all these items is available\, in a contact-less\, fashion outside the front of the workshop at these drop-off/pick-up events\, as are teddy bears\, fabric\, From the Heart tags\, and plastic bags for your future use.\n\nBelow is your unique link to make an appointment this Sunday to select yarn\, other than what is listed above\, for future From the Heart projects. We are going to do a yarn swap – bring those skeins you don’t like and swap for something you would like to work with. \nIs there something you need help with? Bring it with you and we will find someone to help you. Something you want to learn? Let me know asap and we will try to add a class for that topic or find someone to assist you. \nSee how leftovers can make up into useful beautiful items. All items completed will be delivered to various groups in the community. \nThe concept for the Fredericksburg Donation Daze is the same as Richmond. We have many items which have been donated to From the Heart but which we can’t really make good use of in our work of serving our communities. A few of the items we will have available are knitting needles\, pattern books and magazines\, and a variety of very nice yarns. SUMMARY:Double Dollar Daze Event - Saturday\, September 8th from 10am until 2pm and Sunday\, September 9th from 1pm until 4pm
DESCRIPTION:Due to the volume of nice yarn on hand\, it was agreed at the From the Heart Board Meeting\, to schedule a “Double Dollar Daze” that would be held two days in a row. Saturday. September 8th (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) and Sunday\, September 9th (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm) are the scheduled dates.  For those who are not familiar with the concept of Dollar Daze\, From the Heart receives quite an amount of yarn during the year which is not suitable for the work we do (silks\, mohair\, cashmere\, linen and so forth). We categorize this yarn and\, in some cases\, mark it with its original price.  Once or twice a year\, we offer this yarn to our members for a donation.  Depending on the yarn\, we sometimes suggest a donation of approximately 1/3 the original but we also offer quite a lot for a suggested donation of $1/skein.  With the money we receive at these events\, we purchase acrylic yarn which we can use for our clients.  We will also have needles\, hooks\, accessories\, and books on hand.\n\nAlso to be offered are Grab Bags since they were well received at the Retreat.  As with the bags offered at the Retreat\, the suggested donation per bag is $1.\n\n\nThe hours are: \n\nSaturday. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is a follow up to the previous Beginning Planned Pooling workshop.  Please bring a skein of one of the following *yarns OR the yarn you are currently pooling. Please bring the crochet hook you found works for you if you are currently pooling. SUMMARY:“Waste Not” Workshop and Yarn Swap (Fredericksburg)
DESCRIPTION:We will have yarn\, patterns and help available. We are going to do a yarn swap – bring those skeins you haven’t used and swap for something you would like to work with. \nIs there something you need help with? Bring it with you and we will find someone to help you. Something you want to learn\, please let me know asap and we will try to add a class for that topic. \nSee how leftovers can make up into useful beautiful items. All items completed will be delivered to various groups in the community. \nBring your tools and a dish to share and come for a fun filled day! Plates\, napkins\, cups\, bowls\, utensils\, coffee\, hot tea and bottled water will be provided. The building has a large kitchen for our use. \nWe will need both a setup and clean up team so let us know which you are able to help with. Everyone is welcome so bring your friends and relatives.
