Monthly Mentions, April 2024

April 21st through the 27th was National Volunteer week.  The theme for the week was “Celebrate Service – an opportunity to shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve.”

From the Heart is totally dependent on our volunteers who make our mission and outreach possible.  Without your kindness to make comfort items, serve as a volunteer at our workshop and special events, we could not exist.  Thank you to those who take our trash and recycle, who vacuum and dust, wash the projects that have odors, those who sort, count and bag items every week, who deliver to our recipients, who keep our shelves tidy with yarn and fabrics, who punch holes in the tags and string them, and to everyone who donates their treasure of talents to our organization.  It is amazing that we can accomplish so much and serve so many because of YOU

It is an exceptional person who wants to serve others.  Our members come from many walks of life and some have critical health concerns.  But their desire to put the needs of others before their own qualifies as having the heart of a servant.

I am so inspired by our organization.  The origins of FtH stretch back years when our first volunteer and Founder, Lois, began making hats with just a few friends.  Look how far we have grown since then.  It was all possible because of our volunteers.  One person cannot grow and expand our organization, but one person can make a difference in the life of another with a simple hat or blanket.

My thanks to everyone for all you do for From the Heart and for making the mission of this organization a part of your life’s purpose.
