Mark your calendar and save the date – Saturday, October 7, 2023. It will be here before you blink. Once again, we will hold our Retreat at The Place at Innsbrook located at 4036-C Cox Road in Glen Allen 23060. Doors will open at 9:30 am and the festivities will begin at 10:00 am.
“We Walk Better Together” is the theme that Rebecca Kennedy and team have been developing. This team never fails to stun us with their beautiful decorations. This theme is truly on point – especially in today’s environment. We like to think that what we do at FtH fosters sharing and caring with our recipient partners. It is a lovely message to share and execute in our everyday lives no matter our membership status.
We have already received some adorable raffle items. Stay tuned for photos in future newsletters. Of course, we will have a great line-up of speakers and vendors to satisfy your personal wants and your holiday gift giving.
Registration will begin July 1st and close on September 15th. The registration fee will be determined based on 2023 rates at The Place when we are closer to July 1st. At this time, we anticipate capping attendance at 125 with 8 people to a table. Classes and live demonstrations are being planned that will entice your creative spirit.

Make New Friends but Keep the Old. Some are Silver and Others Gold
August 24, 2019
The Place at Innsbrook
4036 Cox Rd., Glen Allen, VA 23060
Registration for the 2019 Retreat is now open. All registration forms must be in by July 31st, 2019 and must be mailed. They cannot be dropped in the box at the shop. Get yours in early to be sure of reserving your place. The Registration form is available HERE.
The always popular classes will be “Knitted Duplicate Stitch” taught by Beth Watkins, “Make a Necklace for Yourself or as a Gift” with Lizard Harper, “How to Crochet Two Rows at the Same Time” offered by Francine Nelson and Joyce Puller, and “Learn Portuguese Knitting” taught by Johnnie Wood. All classes will be offered twice, once in the morning and once again in the afternoon, but we can only accommodate a maximum of 10 people in each class. Therefore, we need people to register beforehand if they want to attend a class. Extra patterns and instructions will be available for all classes and will be available at our website after the Retreat but personal, hands-on, instruction can really only be made available for 20 people on the actual day of the Retreat so, please, let Tricia know if you want a seat in any of these classes. Please note that you must be already registered for the Retreat in order for a seat to be reserved for you.
The price of the 2019 Retreat will remain the same, at a suggested $40, as this helps defray our costs and The Place is, once again, working with us to keep our costs down. We will limit attendance to 200 again in 2019. If $40 is something you simply cannot afford but you would still like to attend, please contact either Lois or Tricia. All enquiries of this nature will be kept in strict confidence.
We have two confirmed speakers, Constance Jones with WRIC and Beverly Epps from John Randolph Medical Center.
Our gift to attendees this year will be a book of classes we have offered in the past. We will also have our door prizes and bingo prizes and, of course, our Raffle. Tickets for the Raffle will be $1 each or 6 for $5. Once again, our members have been very generous in donating beautiful hand-made, one of a kind, items to be raffled.
Don’t forget to send any ideas you have for “mixers” to Tricia at triciaennis2014@gmail.com, leaving her a note at the workshop, or phoning her at (804)683-9015.
